Pampanga’s giant lantern magic is now shining in Bangkok.
According to Philstar Interaksyon, Ahtisa Manalo—our Miss Universe Philippines 2025—stunned the global stage wearing Festejada, a breathtaking national costume crafted by Kapampangan designer Mak Tumang. Inspired by the María Clara silhouette and made with traditional piña fabric, the piece honors Filipino women and the country’s rich cultural identity.
Its standout element? A skirt made of over 65,000 hand-cut petals, symbolizing the brilliance of San Fernando’s Giant Lantern Festival, the vibrant hues of Lucban’s Pahiyas, and the floral splendor of Baguio’s Panagbenga. More than fashion, it’s a tribute to our festivals, artistry, and national pride.
Mak Tumang also dedicated this masterpiece to the sewers and artisans who helped bring Festejada to life—turning Filipino craftsmanship into a spectacle seen worldwide. Now, all eyes are on Ahtisa as she vies for a historic three-peat win for Best National Costume.
✨ Kapampangan creativity and Filipino culture are lighting up the world—one petal at a time.
